Based on the government’s advice and guidelines, Live 4 Dancing have made some changes so we can all continue to operate and ensure everyone feels safe at studios, including:

Reduced class capacity to increase space between students based on World Health Organisation guidelines and adhere to 2 metre distancing

– Allowing 5 mins before and after classes for increased sanitising of surfaces such as music/ sound equipment sound, barres, door handles

– Undertaking a Covid 19 Risk Assessment

– Creating a written Health & Safety Policy specifying extra measures to be taken on account of COVID-19

Please follow the instructions on hygiene and social distancing as displayed around the building to keep yourself and everyone safe.

By attending a booking at Live 4 Dancing you agree to abide by these rules.

  • To adhere to the 2m distancing based on the World Health Organisation guidelines, we now have a reduced class capacity.
  • The distance for each class member should be a 10 foot by 10 foot square (approx. 3 metres by metres) based on the English Government guidance for ventilation during dance and exercise. This will be considered when choreographing with the minimum movement.
  • Advance bookings apply. Walk-ins will not be accepted.
  • To allow time for disinfection before and after each class, classes for students aged 5 and over, are now 50mins long.
  • All teaching staff will be adhering to the 2m distancing and won’t be facing students when giving instructions / teaching.
  • Surfaces are wiped down in-between classes, i.e barres, music/ sound equipment
  • Partnering can only happen with members of the same household. This also applies to teachers and other students.
  • There is now a virtual option of the same class at the same time as the in-person class. This means that that class will be live-streamed in-studio. There will be marked spaces for students who do not wish to be seen in the live stream feed to stand. Please note that only those registered for the live stream classes have access to the feed, and that the classes can not be recorded.
  • All Clients and teaching staff are required to wash their hands and/or use hand sanitizer (available at the entrance to the building as well as in each studio) both before and after each class, and after using the restrooms.
  • Parents are asked to drop students off at the door and ensure they have entered the building safely.
  • Pre-School parents can accompany their child to the studio and should wear a face covering or mask and gloves AT ALL TIMES.
  • Clients are asked to provide accurate, up-to-date, contact information (name and phone number), in case of an emergency.
  • Students should not wait in the building after the classes. Parents are asked to arrive on time and wait in outside the building. Students who are getting a ride from a family member or friend must wait for them outside the studio.
  • All clients must leave the studio promptly after their class has ended so that our staff can ensure that all in-between class disinfecting protocols are completed.
  • All client queries should therefore be addressed by phone or email, not at the end of each class.
  • Students should be arriving in their dancewear and dance shoes. Students should use the restroom before arriving at the studios. Access to changing rooms and bathroom is restricted to one person at a time.
  • Outdoor shoes should be placed into plastic bag before entering studio, and other clothes should be put in a separate carrier bag whilst dancing.
  • NO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE BUILDING (except from bottled water which is not to be shared)
  • Younger students (aged 8 and under) will remain in fixed groups.
  • Clients should bring as few items with them into the studio as they can. A designated area will be marked out for belongings.
  • Clients should avoid touching studio mirrors, communal surfaces and equipment.
  • Clients and teaching staff should cover their mouth with a tissue to cough or sneeze, and throw used tissues in the Covid 19 bins. Use hand sanitiser immediately afterwards.
  • Clients and teaching staff who are unwell with following symptoms of Coronavirus (Covid-19) should not attend the classes. If you have any of the following symptoms DO NOT enter the building.

This includes entering and leaving the building, going to the bathroom, on the stairs entering and exiting the upstairs studios or if you need to come and speak to one of the staff at reception. Don’t touch your face or mask while wearing it. Change your mask if it gets damp or you’ve touched it.
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water for 20 seconds or use hand sanitiser before putting your mask on.
  • People should maintain at least 1 meter distance from each other.

  • 1 person in each bathroom at a time. It is important that toilets are flushed with the lids closed.
  • Noise levels in the studios should not exceed a level where anyone needs to shout. Aerosol transmission of the virus increases with voice projection.
  • The air conditioning unit in the studio should be on at all times.
